ADA-Compliant Restrooms

If you’re serious about creating an outdoor venue that’s truly accessible to everyone, then it’s important that your restrooms meet ADA standards. Here are some basic ADA guidelines for a single-user restroom:

  • 30” by 48” access to the sink; the door can’t swing into this rectangle
  • The center line of the toilet must be between 16-18” from the side wall
  • Provides a clear circle of at least 60” around the side wall and 56” from the rear wall to allow for wheelchair mobility; the door can’t swing into this area
  • Multi-user ADA compliance guidelines follow similar principles

If it’s restroom building options you’re looking for, Carolina Recreation & Design has them! We can essentially provide any type of restroom facility you may need; here are a few of our most popular restroom building offerings:

  • Single Restroom Building: Our single-user restroom comes in both cedar shake and ribbed metal roof texture options, and the exterior walls can be finished in barnwood, stucco, aggregate, or split-face block. Each building comes pre-plumbed and pre-wired, and is designed to meet all local building codes. We also offer waterless restroom facility options.
  • Double Restroom Building: Our double restroom buildings are built to the same standards as our single restroom buildings, but they provide two separate usable restroom facilities. In addition to the above-mentioned exterior finishing options, these buildings can also be finished with board & batten siding, horizontal lap siding, flagstone, river rock, or Napa Valley rock.
  • Unisex Restroom Building: Our single and double restrooms can be designed to be gender-specific, or they can be designed as unisex facilities. You can have them customized however you choose.
  • Multi-User Restroom Buildings: Our multi-user restroom buildings can be designed to accommodate anywhere from 4-6 toilets and 2-4 sinks. If you have a campground facility or other site in need of bathing facilities, we can also provide multipurpose restroom buildings with one, two, or four showers.
  • Concessions Buildings, Utility Storage Buildings, & Restroom/Concession Combo Facilities: We offer some great single-use concession building plans with roll-up concession doors and 3-compartment stainless steel sinks.
