Every July, we come together to recognize National Park and Recreation Month, a time to celebrate the incredible impact that parks, green spaces, and the professionals behind them have on our communities. At Carolina Recreation & Design, this month holds special meaning—not just because of what we do, but because of who we do it for.

The 2025 theme, “Build Together, Play Together,” celebrates the contributions of more than 160,000 full-time park and recreation professionals—along with hundreds of thousands of part-time and seasonal workers and volunteers—who maintain our country’s close-to-home parks.

And the work doesn’t stop in July—it’s a year-round commitment to building better communities through parks and recreation.
