Our Year in Play: Highlights from 2024 Projects
Wow, what a year it’s been! At Carolina Recreation & Design, 2024 brought us opportunities to dream big, build even bigger, and work with some truly amazing people and communities. From splash pads that made summer unforgettable to playgrounds and amphitheaters that became spaces for fun and creativity, this year was all about bringing visions to life. Let’s take a look back at some of our favorite projects, amazing partnerships, and everything in between.
Purposeful Playgrounds
Playgrounds are where imaginations take flight, and this year, we delivered some of our best designs yet. From towering slides to creative climbing structures, the playgrounds we completed this year combined fun, safety, and innovative design. Seeing children run, laugh, and explore is always the ultimate reward for our hard work.
A Splashing Success
This year, we unveiled a splash pad that became the centerpiece of summer fun for one lucky community. With colorful sprays, jets, and water features, this project turned hot days into unforgettable memories for kids and families alike. It’s safe to say we’ve set the bar for outdoor water play areas, and we’re already dreaming up ideas for next year’s aquatic spaces.
Shades and Stages
This year, we had the privilege of designing and installing shade structures and bandshells that serve as focal points for community gatherings and events. These additions not only enhance the functionality of parks and public spaces but also provide comfort and style for everyone to enjoy. We helped clients find the perfect cooling shades for their play spaces, including this unique butterfly shade for Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh, NC!
