Roastin’ for Research CLT: Helping Land a Cure for Childhood Cancer
Every year, Carolina Recreation is proud to sponsor Roastin’ for Research Charlotte, a community fundraiser benefiting Reelin’ for Research and UNC Children’s Hospital.
The 2025 Roastin’ for Research CLT and Fall Auction was a tremendous success, grossing over $60,000 for children’s cancer research. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came out to Divine Barrel Brewing or supported the auction. Your involvement directly supports life-saving pediatric cancer care and research at UNC Children’s Hospital.
This event is built around a simple idea: bring people together for a great time and an even greater mission. From the food and craft beer to live music and the auction, every part of the day is designed to rally support for kids and families who need it most.
We are already looking forward to sponsoring next year’s event on Saturday, April 18, 2026! We hope to see you there.

What Is Reelin’ for Research?
Reelin’ for Research is a year-round effort that culminates in a one-day fishing tournament in Morehead City, NC. To date, the organization has raised more than $8.3 million for UNC Children’s Hospital, supporting critical research and clinical trials that help move childhood cancer treatment forward.

Supporting Veterans Through Wounded Warrior Project
Carolina Recreation is also proud to donate to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), the nation’s leading veterans service organization supporting post-9/11 wounded, ill, and injured veterans and their families.
WWP focuses on total well-being—mental, physical, emotional, and financial—so veterans and their families can thrive for a lifetime. From benefits support to peer connection and wellness programs, their work changes lives every day, and we’re honored to play a small part in that mission.
